orlando doula

just for dads

Today many childbirth classes emphasize the role of the partner as coach, suggesting they educate themselves on how to help labor progress or help the mother cope with pain. This may be a lot to expect, especially if you have not been through the childbirth experience before. It is an emotionally charged event for you as well.

A doula is there to help you, as much as she helps the mother. The doula will allow you to be there and participate to your fullest potential. She will give you guidance on how to be most supportive, or she will step in to help.

When my wife told me she was considering hiring a Doula, I was skeptical. I thought, “Why pay money to have someone in the delivery room that you hardly know?” Man, was I wrong!

Adriana is a highly qualified Doula and so much more. She is a voice of knowledge and experience as well as a kind and comforting friend who makes you feel like you’ve known her for years. Above all, Adriana was our partner throughout the entire 32+ hours of my wife’s labor and delivery, bringing assurance and peace to what could have been a potentially nerve-racking experience.

Do yourself a favor and invite Adriana to be part of your birthing experience. It will be one of the best decisions you make! -Chris Guggenheim
